Vetiver is a grass and it's name is derived from Tamil name "Vettiver". Vettiver is native to India and both it's leaves and roots have wonderful uses. It's roots are mainly used in home remedies. I always have vetiver root at home. Vetiver root is dried and sold in the markets and they last for quite some time. Since India is a tropical country, we as a nation have always been fond of natural ingredients that keep our body cool and vetiver tops that list, because it is such a natural body cooler.

Herbert Mann is the second owner of Growlite, and the son of our original cheif farmer, Jeremiah Mann. He has worked here for most of his adult life and took the reins from his father when Jeremiah passed away in 2004. Since his passing, Herbert has firmly upheld our standards of quality in what we produce and the ethics of how we produce it. He still personally works the fields every season of the year to make sure that what we grow is something that he himself would eat.

Jered is next in line for the Growlite Farms legacy and already
he's showing a lot of promise as a farm hand as well as a farm
manager. He's got two green thumbs and a great attitude towards the
cultivation of healthy produce in a a world that is overcroweded
with larger agricultural companies pushing low quality, potentially
dangerous food to market. Not to worry, though! Jered plans to keep
the farm alive for years to come.

Wife of Herbert and mother of Jered, Margaret Mann is the
matriarch of our farm, as well as something of a mad scientist.
With a degree each in biology and organic chemistry, she, more than
anyone keeps us honest about the food we grow, proofing every
bushel that comes in from the fields during harvest time for any
sign of toxins, decay, or infection from bacteria and fungus. We
are proud to have her in our family.
